Life Changes

When Life Changes Faster Than You Can Keep Up

There are moments in life when everything shifts at once.
A job ends.
A relationship changes.
A chapter closes.
A new one begins before you feel ready.

And suddenly you’re standing in the middle of a transition you didn’t ask for, wondering how to find your footing again.

Here’s what I’ve learned from my own transitions — and I’ve had a few:

You don’t need to have the whole path figured out.
You only need to see the next step.

Life changes feel overwhelming when we try to fix everything at once.
But clarity doesn’t come in one big download.
It comes in small, quiet moments — one insight at a time.

When I left the meatworks, I had no idea what was next.
When I left Telstra, the same thing.
When I stepped into coaching, I didn’t have a master plan — just a sense that something in me was ready for a different conversation.

Every transition I’ve ever lived through had one thing in common:

The next step always revealed itself when my mind settled.

Not when I forced it.
Not when I panicked.
Not when I tried to control everything.

But when I allowed myself to breathe, to listen, and to trust that clarity would come.

Reflection:

  1. If you’re in a transition right now, don’t rush the process.
  2. You’re not meant to know everything today.
  3. Just look for the next step — it’s already waiting for you.
